FAQ

What does an Expert Setup entail?

- Our Full Set-up includes full diagnostics and inspection of the entire instrument, full inspection of all electronics, personalized recommendations for upgrades and improvements, full redress and polish of frets, cleaning and oiling of fret board, tightening hardware, replacing any needed small parts or screws, restring, adjusting and polishing nut slots, lubricating truss rod nut (if needed), full truss rod adjustment, balancing tremolo or setting tailpiece, adjusting saddle height, setting intonation using even temperament methods, checking electronics, adjusting pick ups, detail polish and cleaning... Basically, everything needed to make your guitar amazing again.

I see you service amps, can you fix my solid-state guitar or bass amp? Or my Mixer?!

The unfortunate answer is... it depends. I have been *specifically* trained to diagnose and work on tube amplifiers, even more specifically, vintage tube amplifiers. The power sections of solid-state gear are different than those in tube amplifiers thus have a much different approach to the repair. While it's not always the power section that is problematic in a solid-state amp, it tends to be a reoccurring issue. Another issue are surface-mount components. We are not equipped to work on micro components and surface-mount. We service full size components like you would see in an amp from the 60s.

If it has tubes, we should be good. If not, it may be better to take it to an electronics repair center or contact the manufacturer.

What are your store hours and how do I make an appointment?

- Our public store hours can change drastically week-to-week due to touring. The best way to make sure someone will be at the shop is to check our Google Maps hours (always up-to-date) or by making and confirming an appointment. Please feel check out our availability and make an appointment by clicking the HERE!

"I tried to call, but no one answered the phone? What's up with that?"

- We try our best to get to every call, however, if we are in the middle of a repair, we simply cannot stop to grab the phone. The absolute best way to get a quick response would be to shoot us an email at: contact@okguitarandamp.com

"Can I get my guitar by Sunday?"

- This question is one I didn't realize would be so popular. Really, the short answer is probably not. We are extremely busy these days and our queue is always full. However, if there is an "emergency", we do offer a rush service that guarantees your guitar done in 24-36 hours. Just don't show up on Friday...  We also offer guitar rentals! Please ask us about it.
